Re: PS3 diy USB not working
I attempted to use Ubuntu on a HP probook 4440s which is the only other halfway functional computer in the house. I unfortunately could not say if it works or not as I was not able to get gimx or any drivers installed. Also it ran unbarebly slow from live USB drive. This was needed as the HDD in this laptop is dead ATM. Is there anything else I can test or try? I have a friend who is going to bring his laptop over on the weekend to test then.

Did you get any error message? Did you follow these instructions: http://gimx.fr/wiki/index.php?title=Installation#Ubuntu ?Rotoclaive wrote:I was not able to get gimx or any drivers installed

I did follow the instructions. The reason I couldn't get it installed is that I couldn't find the button it asked me to click to enable access to the universe and because the machine ran so slow I would click the browser or almost anything and wait at least 30seconds usually longer for it to respond. I got so frustrated with it that I stopped using it. I have a friend with a newer laptop with windows 7 that I can test soon.
