I just finished building my first USB and my first try was unsuccessful, I really don't know where to begin to try to find the problem, I was able to do everything as the guide for dummies says, but at the very end, when trying to press a key the gimx software detects it, but nothing happens in my ps3. I wonder if the serial converter works or if the jumper cables are connected properly.
Any advice?

Re: DIY USB adapter not working
Thanks for the reply, I got it working, although I don't know exactly what fixed the issue. I switched the TXO and RXI cables, and change the COM port number under device manager. None of this was mentioned in the dummies guide, but is something that you could consider adding, if you think is relevant.
Thank you so much for this wonderful piece of engineering.

I guess your USB to serial adapter is not exactly the same as in the tutorial for dummies.
