Bluetooth gimx dongle for iPhone

Post by Josh »

Hi, I recently got the iOS 13 beta for my iPhone and I realized that in the new update that I could connect my Xbox controller to it and play games. Now my question is could you use the Bluetooth adapter used in the ps4 mouse and keyboard setup with an Xbox controller to connect to iPhone? it sounds possible in my head but I don’t know how the Bluetooth capability’s are set up for the adapter. Thanks

Hardware-wise it's probably possible, but software-wise it's probably not. iOS probably does not give the low-level access to the bluetooth stack that is required to emulate a Dualshock 4.

Hey,

At the moment, GIMX (Game Input MultipleXer) is mainly designed for Windows and Linux setups to connect controllers via USB or Bluetooth to consoles, and unfortunately, there’s no official support for iPhone or iOS. iPhones have pretty strict Bluetooth profiles and don’t allow low-level HID device pairing like GIMX requires.

If you're looking for controller-related tools or apps for iPhone without jailbreak, you might want to check out Scarlet App Store — they offer a range of iPhone apps that aren't on the App Store, no jailbreak needed: https://scarletappstore.com/pt-br/

Hopefully one day we’ll see mobile-compatible GIMX alternatives — but for now, it's pretty much desktop-only.
