Hi
I'm still waiting for the electronics to be delivered to me, but I thought I would install the software earlier. And here's my problem step-by-step:
During the USBDK installation (from the GIMX 5.8 installer) my mouse and keyboard stop working for a few seconds, then the mouse activates but the keyboard remains inactive (I also hear a few Windows sounds that indicate problems with a USB device). A few seconds later I get an error about the "Red Hat USB driver" (or something similar) is not digitally signed and that my system allows only digitally signed drivers. All I can do now is to click the "Close" button. Then I reboot the computer and all my USB ports are not working. The only option now is to restore the system from a save point using the Windows installation disc. This fixes the USB ports.
It's hard for me to tell what's going on with the drivers in the device manager because I obviously cannot use my keyboard and mouse.
I've read this topic: http://forum.gimx.fr/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1229 but I think it's a bit different issue in my case.
I've already updated the Intel USB 3.0 drivers from here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downlo ... set-Family but it didn't help.
I'm using Windows 7 Pro 64-bit with SP1, the mainboard is MSI Z77 MPower.
Any feedback please?
USB ports stop working after installing GIMX software
Re: USB ports stop working after installing GIMX software
Hi,
It looks like you are having the same issue as here: https://github.com/daynix/UsbDk/issues/20
Installing security update 3033929 seems to solve the issue.
