GIMX doesn't detect adapter

Post by gcardy »

GIMX adapter: CP2102/TEENSY 2.0
GIMX Version: 6.11
Computer: Windows 8.1
Gaming target: PS3
Controller: OSW/Clubsport v3

My problem:

I cant seem to get GMIX working with my DIY adapter, log output below.

global option -c with value `LogitechG27.xml'
controller #1: option -p with value `COM40'

Logitech drivers are installed. I tested the CP2102, and it is working properly. I also verified that I flashed the Teensy 2.0 with the correct firmware. I've tried flipping the RX/TX, but all that happens is that the RX LED on the CP2102 stays lit blue. I spent a few hours today browsing the forums to see if there were any steps that I am missing. Any help would be appreciated, I'm happy to provide more info if needed.

There probably is a loose connection. Does your Teensy have soldered pins?

Hi Matlo,

Thanks for the quick reply, as well as all the work you have put into this project! Yes my Teensy has soldered pins, I purchased it from the PJRC so I know that it is a real Teensy.

As far as I can tell the connections look good. I used a volt meter to test continuity on the respective pin on each board, with the cables plugged in. Beeps all around. I flashed the Teensy again for the fun of it, and so that I could collect the logs to show the one message that I think is benign, but wanted to verify.

I mean, it says that the proper firmware is loaded, but I see the .elf file error. I have tried multiple USB port on my computer, and still the same result.

Thanks

EDIT: I installed the Logitech drivers, but I assume that my DIY adapter needs to be working properly first in order for the Logitech stuff to 'detect' the emulated G27.

It has to work as long it's genuine teensy. Can you try your device on other pc just to be sure?

My gaming PC is the only Windows box that I have, everything else is a Mac. Would booting Ubuntu off of a USB drive and trying GIMX be acceptable? I can always bring the adapter into to work tomorrow and try on another PC.

You can try Bootcamp for installing windows on Mac. I was successful using Gimx on Macbook through bootcamp.

Please post a clear picture showing the wiring, and a link to the cp2102 board.
