Macro not releasing

Post by foxy »

I created a small macro to do a repetitive loop and mapped it to the F key that is mapped to the trackpad. For some reason this macro is not releasing. I had it on profile 1 and now play on profile 2 and whenever I press F it runs the macro. I have deleted the macro file from the folder but it still runs. I have to close the terminal and gimx and re-run to get it released.

Is there something I am doing wrong?

Hi,

Gimx reads the macro files when it starts. Deleting the macro file while gimx is running has no effect.

I deleted the macro after multiple restarts as well and deleted it while Gimx was shut down.

Any advice Matlo? Is there a way to clear GIMX memory or something?

To explain again I originally made a macro to be used on profile 1. This Macro worked well, it was a rubber banding macro (go fwd for few seconds, press button, wait few sec, press again, wait, press again and wait for about 5 minutes and then loop). I did a shutdown of GIMX and the PC. The next day I loaded GIMX with profile 2 for my normal FPS game and when I pressed the button now mapped to lets say the map or scoreboard the macro started running. The only way I could get it to stop was to shutdown GIMX. After that I moved the macro file to different directory. This did not work so after another shutdown I moved the folder to a different directory and that did not work so I deleted the folder. I still get the macro running when I press that button and it is a relatively important button for me but not so that it stop my game play. Now if i press it by accident I just close GIMX and start again.

Pls help

How do you start GIMX? Using gimx-launcher? Using root or standard user?

I use the gimx-launcher from menu bar and I am relatively sure it is a standard user

Is the ~/.gimx/macros directory empty?
