Changing the mac address of the PS3 controller?

I know you've tried doing this before without success, but this blog has managed to change the address for the PS4 controller, is it possible to modify this script to use it on a PS3 controller?

The address of the DS3 controller itself can't be changed.
The address of the PS3 that is stored in the DS3 controller memory can be changed.
There's a tool that can do it, it's called sixpair.
