The ps3 will recognize it as a controller however none of my input on the keyboard does anything. I tested my cp2102 using the Arduino IDE and the echo test worked across all baudrates. No other devices hooked up to pc or ps3. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Is your teensy board recognized as a joystick when it is connected to a PC?

Yes I forgot to mention I did that test as well. I also swapped the rx and tx around on the cp2102 even though they are clearly marked just because its such a common problem.

Does the Output>GUI mode show the right actions?

Did you tried to map the adapter as first controller?

Yes it does, it'll show the corresponding input when I press the buttons. Left(255), Right(255), Up(255), Circle(255), Square(255) ect.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by map, but I do plug it into the first usb port on the ps3.
