Hello there. I'm on Linux Mint 21.3 and I've been using GIMX via bluetooth on the PS3 for some time now and it's working great, no issues whatsoever. However I can't get it to work via bluetooth on the PS4, I always get this error:

Code: Select all

Unknown Management opcode 7 (index 0)
failed to initialize bluetooth device
[01;31mError: [0mfailed to initialize the dualshock 4 emulation.

I did follow the instructions on the wiki to set up everything but no luck. Any ideas on what I could do to fix that?

Was the ps4 controller off during connection?

I tried with the controller on and off and it didn't work. But I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with the teensy after pairing...

I tried setting up the teensy with the EMUPS4 firmware available on this release since I'm also using GIMX 8.0:

But if I use that firmware then I can't get pass the 'plug the teensy' prompt, it seems like GIMX just doesn't recognize the teensy with that firmware.

So I set up the teensy with this firmware:

Which does let me complete the pairing process but then when I try to start GIMX I get that error on my first post.

What teensy board are you using?

I'm using a teensy 2.0.

Also, when I start GIMX with the output set to Bluetooth/PS4 it says 'Bluetooth service has to be stopped. Proceed?' I click on yes and then I get that error on my first post. It doesn't ask me that if I choose Bluetooth/PS3 though and it works just fine on the PS3.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. That thread linked pointed me in the right direction, thank you.

The problem was with the bluetoothd binary. I just had to rename it, delete gimx config files, redo the pairing and then it worked! Though DS4 inputs weren't recognized properly but I found a workaround in this thread.
