Joystick not recognized [SOLVED]

Dear People,

A few weeks ago my connection stopped working so I swapped out USB cables and it seemed to work. Then yesterday my joystick wasn't registering. I put it in the PS4 and it worked and then put it back in the laptop and it worked. Now today it's just not registering. The laptop sees it in device manager and the gimx launcher sees it, but pushing the PS button it non longer connects in the PS4. However, it works fine with it directly connected to the PS4.

Any ideas?

Looks like input is not registered. Look in gimx-config if it's set correctly.

I have not changed the config. Would it change on its own?

I doubt it. Use gimx-config to check if input is correctly read when you try to bind.

Config test ok when I open launcher. Also sees joystick when I look at it in the gimx config application. Below is a link to the config.

Is the gimx adapter no longer working? Does it degrade over time?

I would say that if you do connect/disconnect cable from the adapter then yes it will degrade over time. Especially with the crappy USB micro port (Arduinos fault to choose that USB version.)

If i where you i would leave the adapter in the PC-PS4 at all time, or as i have my adapter with cable in the connected in the arduino at all time!
This has never given a problem for me.

I believe my GIMX is not working anymore. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. This all happened month ago when I took out the usb cable that came with the Gimx. It only works sometimes now. I'm going to make my own and see what happens.

It's probably a good idea.
Have you inspected the gimx you have right now. Solder joint etc.
