Numb Force Feedback Issue

Post by TrackNutz »

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone has had the same issues as me and found a fix?

Direct Drive wheel.
GIMX set up as a G29.
Playing GT Sport.
The force feedback is providing vibrations and kerb feelings, but the actual weight of the car, understeer, oversteer etc is not being conveyed at all.

Borrowed a real G29 off a friend to try and during understeer you get a tyre scrub feeling. During oversteer you get the self aligning torque feel so you can catch the slide. None of these feelings are coming through the GIMX adapter in G29 mode.

Any ideas at all?

Many thanks for your support.

Did you find a fix? I can't get any FFB whatsoever.

Sorry if this is wrong but my launcher either looks like this. In which case I get FFB for literally a split second. But then I lose input can't even steer.

global option -c with value `SC2.xml'
controller #1: option -p with value `COM12'
now reading arguments for controller #2
subpos flag is set
force_updates flag is set
auto-grab flag is set
GIMX adapter detected, controller type is: G29 PS4.
Firmware version: 8.0
Reset sent to the GIMX adapter.

Using baudrate: 2000000 bps.

Haptic core has source haptic_source_lg for device 046d:c260
Haptic core has sink haptic_sink_os for joystick 1 (Simucube 2 Pro)
Press the key/button assigned to PS.

When I get on my computer I will try reproduce the issue like the above.

The other scenario is when it says haptic core has no haptic sink. In which case, I get input but no FFB.

I managed to get FFB working.. absolutely have no idea what the issue was.

The only thing I done differently was that I installed an old Logitech gaming software.

However after installing, It wouldn't even get to a stage where it works even without FFB.

I uninstalled the Logitech gaming software and out of nowhere its working with ffb!

Super happy now. Although the shaking in GTS isn't nice it's manageable.
