P.S.:
The DS4 seems to be ejected when I press "Start" on GIMX. I don't know if this is supposed to happen, but as soon as I click on "Start" I can hear the Windows "USB unplug sound" and I also can't find the controller as a hardware device anymore.

There is nothing to worry about. The default DS4 driver driver is unloaded, which explain the "unplug sound". The reason for this is that GIMX needs low-level access to the device.
