Hi. Hope you can help. Everything was working fine with my Logitech G27 for a couple of weeks with Drive Club, I also have WRC 5 but it didn't like it, option or start button didn't work in that to start the game after the initial screens, but the option button still worked the PS4. Then I got the latest update for WRC 5 and it started working, I finished 1 stage and then it froze at the end and I had to connect another controller to get the PS4 swtiched off.
Now it freezes very quickly after starting, may only last for 20 seconds or maybe a couple of minutes. Nothing changes in the window that pops up after hitting the start button on the Gimx, it still looks connected, after I close that window PS4 says "controller disconnected", so it sounds like, although it's not working, the PS4 still thinks it's connected till I close the window, then hit the start button again on Gimx the G27 will start working again for another short while.
I have a Teensy++2, I originally flashed the wrong firmware but then the right one, from the correct folder, AT90USB1286 and as I say it worked OK for a couple of weeks. I'm still waiting for a Teensy 2.0 to arrive from China that I ordered before Christmas, and could swap that after it arrives if you think the ++2 could be faulty.
I should say that if you leave it when it has stopped working it does start again all be itself after a period of time, but only for a short unpredictable time.

G27 freezing, System details and logfile
Details as requested:
Gimx Version: I started with 5.5 and have since then installed 5.6, fault occurred with both.
Computer is Acer Aspire Laptop:
Intel i7 processor
8GB of Ram
OS: 64 bit running Windows 8.1
No Bluetooth.
DIY Adapter Includes:
USB Adapter: USB 2.0 to TTL UART 6 PIN Module Serial Converter CP2102.
USB specification 2.0 compliant with full-speed 12Mbps.
Standard USB type A male and TTL 6pin connector. 6pins for 3.3V, RST, TXD, RXD, GND & 5V.
All handshaking and modem interface signals.
Baud rates: 300 bps to 1.5 Mbps.
Byte receive buffer; 640 byte transmit buffer.
Hardware or X-On/X-Off handshaking supported.
Event character support Line break transmission.
USB suspend states supported via SUSPEND pins.
Temperature Range: -40 to +85.
Supports Windows 98SE, 2000, XP, Vista, Window7, Mac OS 9, Mac OS X & Linux 2.40.
Teensy++2.0 Bought from Hobbytronics in the UK
Firmware downloaded from the link on the DIY USB adapter for dummies webpage on the 5th January this year. Folder is EMUG29PS4, file used is at90usb1286.hex
Seems to flash OK.
All cables used are screened.
Console is PS4
Freeze occurs whether you’re playing a game or not, you can be scrolling through deciding what to play with the G27 D-Pad controls and it just stops even before you’ve started a game sometimes.
I’m using the genuine DS4 controller that came with the console and my Logitech G27, G27 still works fine with PS3 and on iRacing with my Laptop.
It worked great for 2 or 3 weeks, then just stopped.
I ran DriveClub till it froze for the logfile, I don’t think it shows any errors at time of freeze.
I think the Gimx software is working fine and the problem appears to be possibly in the adapter. Even after it stops working it doesn’t show as disconnected until I close the Gimx down. I have reflashed it a couple of times but the freezing starts just as it did before every time.

Re: G27 disconnecting from PS4 after a short while
Hi,
Think about any change that may have occurred.
Did you update anything like the PS4?
Did you change any USB cable?
Did you change any of the wires?
Also, please take a picture of the adapter and post it.

Re: G27 disconnecting from PS4 after a short while
Hi Matlo
No wires or cables have been changed. There was an update for WRC 5 on the PS4 which I downloaded and installed, and I think it did a system update at the same time.
The first thing i did after the update was see if I could use the wheel on WRC 5, G27 always worked the PS4 controls great but WRC 5 didn't recognise it after you launched it, after the update it worked and I did 1 stage. At the end of the stage I hit the X for continue and thats when it stopped working, it's been faulty ever since.
Here's link to the adapter pic

Re: G27 disconnecting from PS4 after a short while
I can't see how the wires are connected on the Teensy.
Did you solder pins?
Make sure there is no bad contact.

Re: G27 disconnecting from PS4 after a short while
Hi Matlo,
Yes the pins are soldered, I resoldered them to be on the safe side. I had a funny feeling that maybe my laptop was doing something that was upsetting the Gimx side of things so I checked my event log to see what was happening round about the time that it froze last. I saw a couple of things so I ran the sfc/scannow command to see if it found anything and it did so I let it fix what it could.
While doing that I loaded Gimx software, Logitech and DS4 stuff onto another laptop that I have, not as high spec as the usual one, Sony Vaio, i5 processor and Windows 7. I ran it for 4 hours this afternoon with out a problem on that.
I've now reconnected it to my original laptop after the scan, this time I switched of the anti-virus too to be on the safe side. I ran it for over an hour with no problems. Hopefully something I did has fixed it. Think there may have been some kind of conflict with something on my laptop that kicked in after a short while.
Seems to be working fine again now though.
Still won't play WRC 5, it's as if it knows the option and start commands aren't coming from a real G29.
Thanks for your time and help.

Re: G27 disconnecting from PS4 after a short while
Hi Yido. That worked!!!
Looks like you need 2 DS4 controllers, one plugged into Gimx computer as usual and another connected to the PS4.
Start the PS4 and then switch off the controller. Shut down the PS4, just holding the power button on the PS4 and putting it in "Rest Mode" seems to work fine. Then push the button on the front of the PS4 again to restart, start the Gimx software. Push the programmed PS button on the G27 to get it connected and proceed into WRC5 until you get the option screen and you can get no further, then push the PS button on the controller that you've left attached to the PS4, just log in as same user, put that controller down and push your programmed Option button on the G27 and off you go.
Hopefully it'll keep going as long as you want, I just did 3 stages with it just now, no problem, apart from my driving

Re: G27 disconnecting from PS4 after a short while
Nice one glad it worked,I think I'll hold of getting it though untill they patch the problem as it seems to be with the wrc game update itself , i remember a while ago they updated drive club and it caused a prob with thrustmaster t100 wheel which i was using before discovering gimix ,which was sorted in the next update,,and I haven't got 2 ds4 pads so got no choice till they fix it ,demo works fine though.
