Check in the device manager whether you see the CP2102 adapter or not.

It looks like your CP2102 is dead.

Hi guys,

I suspect my CP2102 is faulty too, but as the shipping took 2+ months I want to be sure it is really dead before ordering a new one.

I just can't get my head around the fact that it is still recognized in Windows, I am still able to successfully load the firmware onto my Leonardo through it, but it fails the loop back test every time on Arduino IDE (when I short the TX/RX pins).

Does this behavior makes sense? If it's faulty, shouldn't it be impossible to upload the FW to the Leonardo?

Thanks a lot!

Yes, it would still be possible to load the firmware into the Leonardo as the transfer is performed through the USB port of the Leonardo.

Thanks Matlo.

I'll order a new one. A FT232RL this time, just in case there's something wrong with the drivers.
