Game Input MultipleXer

Hi Matlo. I'm using GIMX using the PS4 + Bluetooth mode. Occasionally I receive these two error messages. Both virtual machine and real OS show the messages. The OS I use is Linux Mint 17.1.


When this shows up, the input is out of control, but usually after a while it recovers. Restart gimx also fixes temporarily.


Rare to happen, but as you can see, gimx terminates when it happens.

I wonder if it is lack of memory, CPU busy, or bluetooth device failure. Thanks!

Which GIMX version are you using?

I think this might be due to the inactivity timeout: after 60s the PS4 puts the connection into sort of a sleeping mode. I've done a few tweaks to deal with this, but I'm not sure it was enough.

Are you running gimx as root user?
It's a bad thing to use root priviledges when it's not needed.

I'm using 3.5.

The problems happens when I'm continuously playing the game. Do you mean the DS4 will sleep if there is no button pressed in 60s? Also, the interval is not strictly 60s, but more random fashion. Sounds like a bug.

I'm running as root only in virtual machine because if anything happen I can simply revert to a snapshot. I ran as normal user when playing with GIMX in LiveCD sessions. Is root the cause of problem?

BTW, how do you tell I'm running as root in the images? That's amazing!

I believe your issue is not related to the inactivity timeout which makes the PS4 slow down the bluetooth connection.
Did you try not to touch any control during 60s? How do controls work after this?

Running as root is not the cause of the problem.

Every time i connected ps4 with GIMX, the error will show after few seconds(about 5 seconds).

Detailed:

1. Click the start button on GIMX
2. Pushed ps button on ds4 for pairing
3. The light of this ds4 will up and ps4 will show the login screen
4. GIMX console will show `send: resource temporarily unavailable`

What kernel does the Rpi run? You can get it typing the following command in a terminal: Could you please try on a PC with Ubuntu 14.04? Use a live usb session if you don't want to install it.

Ok, i will give a try on Ubuntu.

It works on Ubuntu, i can control my ps4 via computer, but this error still will occured after few minutes when GIMX started.

Does it happen while playing, or only after some inactivity?
