Requesting Help Getting Everything Running

Post by DrumsXO »

Hey, everyone.

So, I got my parts in the mail today. I followed the guide on how to set everything up, and I can't seem to get it all working properly...

Parts List:
1) Teensy 2.0 w/ Pins
2) CP2102 Serial Converter
3) The necessary USB cables.

Things to Know:
1) I am using Windows 7.
2) The CP2102 that I bought is the one linked above, the one I received has different labels; http://i.imgur.com/a2wb0ny.jpg
3) The CP2102 drivers were properly installed; I launched the CP210xVCPInstaller_x64.exe and followed the prompts to a successful installation.
4) The Teensy firmware loaded without a problem; I used the atmega32u4 version from the EMU360 folder.
5) The CP2102 board works properly; I tested it using the instructions in the GIMX FAQ.

Connection List:
1) GND --> GND
2) D2 --> RXD
3) D3 --> TXD

Connection Process:
1) Turn off the PC
2) Plug the Xbox 360 controller (it's wired, not Plug-N-Play) into the PC
3) Turn on the PC
4) Run Zadig and replace the driver for the "Controller" preset with the LibUSBK driver
5) Unplug the Xbox 360 controller from the PC
6) Plug the serial converter into the PC
7) Turn on the Xbox 360 console
8) Plug the Teensy into the Xbox 360 console
9) Plug the Xbox 360 controller into the PC
10) Launch GIMX-Launcher

Errors:
1) http://i.imgur.com/MakSFrp.jpg <-- Received when I click "Check" in the GIMX-Launcher
2) http://i.imgur.com/oMN75sQ.jpg <-- Received when I click "Start" in the GIMX-Launcher
3) Zadig aborts the installation of the LibUSBK drivers. The window goes through the messages that show, eventually getting to "Aborting in 45 seconds...," "Aborting in 30 seconds...," etc. until it aborts.
4) After I replace the driver for the controller with the LibUSBK driver in Zadig, the Ring of Light on the controller won't stop blinking (all 4 flash simultaneously).

What am I doing wrong?! I have a feeling it's in the order in which I'm plugging / unplugging / launching things, but I'm not sure.

Please help me!

Hi,

There's no specific connection order.

Please test your CP2102 adapter as explained in the FAQ.

Sorry, I missed that line.

Please post a clear picture of your adapter.

That would be #2 in the "Things to Know" section of my post. Or is that picture not clear enough?

You can also see pictures of it on the Amazon product page from the "Parts List" of my post.

I meant a picture of the whole adapter including the teensy part.

The wiring seems fine.

Did you try to swap RXD and TXD? The labels could be wrong.

Yes, I did try that. Initially I had them reversed; yellow was on RXD and red was on TXD. Then I again at the connection instructions in the DIY Adapter for Dummies part of the Wiki and saw I had it wrong.

According to the Wiki...
Teensy | USB to UART board
GND | GND
D2 | TX / TXO / RXD
D3 | RX / RXI / TXD

I had them reversed. Maybe because I switched them it's not working now?

First I think we need to address why Zadig is failing to install the libusbk driver...

I switched the RXD and the TXD (yellow is on RXD and red is on TXD now), and now I can get the point where it's spoofed and I'm locked out of my PC unless I press Shit+Esc, but I still can't control my 360... The mouse and keyboard don't do anything, and neither does the controller (the wired one connected to the PC). Do I need to configure controls? :?

EDIT: I tried it on my PS3 and it works, but not on my 360! WTF?!
