If the Pro Micro and the CP2102 are correctly wired and powered, unplugging and replugging the Pro Micro should trigger the bootloader.
Do you have a multimeter to check the connections?
I had the same error and after an 1hr of trouble shooting discovered if I have the DS4 plugged into a USB 3.0 port it WILL NOT WORK. If I plug it into a USB 2.0 port everything is fine. With the G25 it does not seem to matter if I have it plugged into USB 2.0 or 3.0 it works fine either way. Hope this helps.

The problem comes up even before GIMX, at loading up the bootloader. But thanks for the info
