If the Pro Micro and the CP2102 are correctly wired and powered, unplugging and replugging the Pro Micro should trigger the bootloader.
Do you have a multimeter to check the connections?

I had the same error and after an 1hr of trouble shooting discovered if I have the DS4 plugged into a USB 3.0 port it WILL NOT WORK. If I plug it into a USB 2.0 port everything is fine. With the G25 it does not seem to matter if I have it plugged into USB 2.0 or 3.0 it works fine either way. Hope this helps. :)

Which device should i use as the correct one for the bootloader?

Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART bridge (COM3)

or

Arduino Leonardo bootloader (COM7)

The problem comes up even before GIMX, at loading up the bootloader. But thanks for the info :)

I cant connect to COM3, in arduino builder it only "detects" COM7.

But the connection from USB to the board seems fine. Any other ideas what could it be?

This post: viewtopic.php?p=8893#p8893 shows a correct firmware loading, so I think you already loaded it right.

Maybe Arduino Builder has issues with the special chars in your folder path?
