Hi.
I´ve seen that many folks over here where using Rasperi pi to plug their self made adapters.
What will be the most effiient system to plug our DiY adapters without problems of latency and lowest consumption posible?
Thanks for your help and your hard work!
MOST EFFICIENT GIMX USE
Re: MOST EFFICIENT GIMX USE
Hi,
Sadly the RPi has latency issues with rumble and force feedback effects.
There's currently no good trade-off, but this will hopefully change in a near future.
The upcoming CHIP may fill your requirements: http://getchip.com/pages/chip

Re: MOST EFFICIENT GIMX USE
Ok thanks.
So for avoiding latencies problems the most efficient way is still a laptop?
Don´t we have more choices like tablets or else?
I don´t know the C.H.I.P you posted. Will that be a nice solution?(no latencies, other uses like kodi etc...)
Anybody tried it?
Thanks again for your help ad your work.
Bye

Re: MOST EFFICIENT GIMX USE
What about raspberry pi zero ?
Re: MOST EFFICIENT GIMX USE
I changed from windows to raspberry and did not notice any latency.
Yes sometimes there is a usb timeout message but it never had any effect on driving project cars
I have a g25
I tried raspberry b+
Tried pi2 (no difference)
At last i changed to my old pi b (only 2usb) after removing systemd and faking ttyama0 clock to 500000
using the old sysvinit and the rx tx pins of raspberry. Putting the arduino inside the pi case you
have a nice little adapter box. Oh needed ttl conversion between rx tx of pi and arduino because of the
different voltage.
I start it up with a powered of ps4 (no standby) , apply power to pi , and when wheel starts its left right left init i
turn on ps4 (there is some noise on the rx tx while powering raspi and this results otherwise sometimes in not
detecting the diy adapter.

@Matlo where can i order the C.H.I.P with paypal??
Re: MOST EFFICIENT GIMX USE
hi,
sorry for bring up old thread
just wondering that currently i am using Raspberry pi connect to DIY USB adapter so it is using one of the USB port for this
am i able to use the GPIO port at the Raspberry pi to connect the RX, TX and GND directly to the teensy and it works right away?
Thanks

Re: MOST EFFICIENT GIMX USE
now, i bought one of this C.H.I.P. I hope its better than the Raspberry Pi.. xD
