Gimx 8.0 windows 11 issues

Hi all,

Fairly new to PC in Nov 23, I have a Fanatec DD pro 8nm and CSL pedals with LC.

Just upgraded to VRS pedals but they don't work on PS5, so i got a Drivehub and Gimx adapter off Etsy.

I created a config for GT7 and it worked ok for a few hours.

The pc wanted a windows update and then after that loads of issues. Had to restart it 3 times to get into safe mode, then i tried to uninstall the latest update, i even tried to repair Windows.

I contact the company i bought the PC from and they recommended a fresh install of windows and if i could save any documents etc to wipe those as well.

I did that today with their help and downloaded various programmes etc.

Then i downloaded the GIMX software again (gimx-8.0-x86_64.exe) it wouldn't even restart properly after the install, then when it did i had no mouse cursor, icue kept crashing etc. I have since uninstalled it.

Can anyone suggest anything i could try please?

Please try creating new local windows account and testing it there.

Hi there,

I had to fully reset my pc again with help from the company i bought it from as it wouldn't even boot correctly. I lost all of my files and settings.

We installed a fresh copy of windows and all of the drivers.

I've since downloaded my programs and games etc, all working fine for a day.

Then as soon as I downloaded the Gimx software last night it asked me to restart. It didn't do it correctly, I had to boot it 3 times to get into recovery mode.

When it finally booted up I had lost all my settings and programs icons were missing from the desktop? I checked programs files and they were there, I searched for them and it couldn't find them.

I did a restore from before I installed Gimx software, all seems to be working fine again.

Could you please suggest anything else?

Is anyone able to help me with this please?

Every time i install the GIMX software my PC won't reboot afterwards.

I have to go back to a restore point and then i get loads of missing temp files. I have to end up doing a full factory reset.

If not i will have to give it a miss and just cut my losses.

I have Windows 11 and it works there. One of your computer components or its driver is the issue here probably.

The thing that is very strange is it worked on my pc for 2 days.

Then after a Windows 11 update it kept causing me issues.

I'm scared to try it again as every time i've installed it, it makes my PC act very strange.

I'm sick of doing a factory reset and losing all my settings etc.

GT7 is just not worth it.
