My tests from last evening were made with a 4.19 kernel.

Code: Select all

Linux raspberrypi 4.19.118-v7+ #1311 SMP Mon Apr 27 14:21:24 BST 2020 armv7l GNU/Linux
I am running a rpi-update now, it is downloading a 5.4 kernel. I will post the result.

I think the timeout errors are more frequent with the 5.4 kernel (not 100% sure).

I get less errors when I slightly decrease the emulated controller frequency. This can be done using the command line:

Code: Select all

gimx -p /dev/ttyUSB0 -c LogitechG25_G29.xml -r 10
With -r 10 the controller runs at 100Hz instead of 200Hz, sending twice less commands to the adapter, leaving more bandwidth for the force feedback commands.

I think it stuck in lower frequency when I used the command.
I did video where you can listen steering wheel's movements and see the game without responce.

Thats exactly what mine did with the Pi4. It works flawlessly with the Pi2.

Sorry for the slowness. I received my "sandwich" heat-sink to keep the RPi4 cooled. I will do the test as soon as I can.
