Fanatec Podium ps4 + heusinkveld pedals

Post by gun079 »

Hi,

Trying to get the Fanatec Podium ps4 edition to work with heusinkveld pedals.
Setting up buttons etc all works but the wheel axis is detected as PS4 controller and I'm guessing that's the reason the axis is not detected in game (GT sport).
Any ideas?

to add:

buttons are detected as device type="joystick" id="1" name="FANATEC Podium Wheel Base DD1"/
steering axis is detected as device type="joystick" id="0" name="PS4 Controller"

If I open the config file with wordpad, change the steering axis ID to 1 and name to FANATEC Podium Wheel Base DD, I do get force feedback in game, but still the axis itself doesn't respond.

You need to create your own config due to your specific set up. Try to detect your wheel axis by rotating your wheel on gimx-config.
And please also provide log file to us :)

Thank you for your reply!

I did create my own config - used to have T500 + Heusinkveld for which I used my own config as well.
Currently when detecting steering axis within gimx-config it is detected as PS4 controller, see screenshot:

I have no idea what kind of magical thing you did by just replying here but I repeated the exact same process as I did yesterday by creating a new config and out of the blue the steering axis was detected as FANATEC podium, instead of ps4 controller.

F*ck YES!

Thank you!

Are you able to reproduce the axis detection issue?

No I have not been able to replicate anymore.

Detects as Fanatec everytime now. Even if using my older config (for the T500) and add a new axis in that config.
