Post by perfectmod »

my computer has a Parallel/printer port, i was hoping that someone would know if and how i could use that instead of having to by a USB to serial TTL converter?

I think this would require many changes in the source code.
You better should buy a USB to serial converter, it's not very costly.

thanks matio for the quick reply. bummer, well i dont have money to spend on anything so i cant get the usb converter  but any way... i was reading the FAQ and it says you cant use the serial port (RS232 port) due to too high of votage, what if i just use some resistors to drop the voltage down?

It won't work with only resistors (it's not only a voltage drop). I know it can be done with a MAX232. But I'm not sure you'll be able to run at 500kbit/s.
