[SOLVED] A device name is empty.

Post by andrewbee »

Hi,

I have Windows 7 running on a laptop. I've followed all the instructions, the device is recognized on COM4, etc. It's plugged into the PS3. When I try to check the config file (BattlefieldBadCompany for example) I get this message:

sdl initialised. A device name is empty. Multiple mice and keyboards are not managed.

Is this a lack of external hardware (e.g. touchpad only instead of mouse) or some other problem?

Thanks

That is a normal message. It's just to let you know that the config you're using is not made for multiple mice and keyboards as their names need to be specified in the config. Are you experiencing any problems though, or did that message only worry you?

Oh OK, I had no idea this was normal. Whoever controls the source code might want to put (this is normal) at the end of the message.

Thanks

This is displayed in an info box. Info boxes usually don't report errors :)
