Lost communication

Hello,
I’m looking for help in understanding why my BT setup stopped working. First, I’m totally new to linux and have struggled through the set up but was able to get it working.
Here are the specs.
Ubuntu -11.10.
Gimx version -0.25.
PC- 3.4 Ghx with 1 gb ram.
Mouse- usb mouse, then Razor mouse( I’ll explain later)
Keyboard – generic Logitech
Bluetooth- I/O Gear GBU221 (old but works, loses address when powered down.)
Console- PS3
Issue:
I had basic functionality in the PS3, and game but when I tried to improve the mouse settings by adding a high DPI Razor mouse (lachesis) and removing the basic mouse. After that everything stopped responding. In the Gimx-Bluetooth Dialogue box I selected “check” to verify the config was working. An info box occurred saying “sdl initialized, A device name is empty. Multiple mice and keyboards are not managed” appears. I accessed the Gim-config setup through the Gimx-Bluetooth file menu. At that point I the device name is missing in the table and the replace mouse and keyboard titles are greyed out. I don't know how to add the device name in the table.
This is all very strange and cannot help but think this is related to adding the razor mouse but has anyone seen something similar? If so What steps should I take to fix it?

Hi,

Please copy-paste the content of your config file within a code tag.

Are the keyboard mappings still working?
Do you see the controls if you check Output > GUI?

Thanks for the quick reply,

I rebuilt part of the config to see if it had been corrupted. The parts that i have fixed are working now. The weird thing was when i would try to look at thew gui, it would respond for about 5 seconds then stop. Same thing would happen after the screen goes grey then a few seconds latter it would return to clear. I looked at the table in the config file, it still doesn't list my keyboard in the config setup. strange,
it was working then i tweaked a coule mouse settings and now the gimx-bluetooth screen turns grey then a few seconds later the cursor reappears and the screen goes clear again.

You mean, the small black window disappears without pressing the ESC key?

What i see is on the gimx bluetooth window the sixaxis addres is present the dongle is present and correctly matches the ps3 and controller address. The emu is set to 0, i press start the mouse cursor disappears, some times the screen greys sometimes not then the not but after a few seconds it goes clear and the cursor reappears.

The other situation is when i press check it says a device name is empty and that multiple keyboard and mice are not managed. When i go to the config my mouse keyboard are not in the table.

the event catcher appears when im setting up the config, but the replace mouse and keyboard are greyed out.

Can i edit the XML manually and add the keyboard and mouse?

I think there is some issue with your dongle . You should try to find a CSR bluecore 4 one. Check this thread: link.
