Rumble support with ps3 and g27

I have a g27 that rumbles on games that natively support it on the ps3. But games that have regular rumble like motorstorm pacific rift, do not vibrate the wheel. Is it possible to have the regular rumble sent to the wheel?
The config has a section for rumble, but I'm not sure how to set it for the g27. I'm using the ps3 joystick emulator settings to play games that have no steering wheel support.
