Clutch Pedal not working on G29

Post by SUPERD70M »

Hi

I wanted to use this software to use a G29 as a G27 on PS3 so i can use the G Shifter. I made a diy adapter using a FTDI232 and a pro micro.
when i connect it to the ps3 the device starts scrolling down through the menus. When i press the clutch pedal halfway the scrolling stops and when i press all the way down it scrolls up. Inside the game none of the pedals work.

I tried removing and installing both Logitech Gaming Software and Logitech G Hub and it made no difference. I used the latest GIMX update and rolled back a couple of versions, same issue.

when i connected both the wheel and the adapter to the pc to test it i found that the clutch pedal stays pressed no matter what i do. I used a software called content manager (Assetto Corsa Launcher) to test it and the result can be seen here:

Please Help.

Hi

Have you disabled combined pedals in the Logitech software ?

Please also add your log file using pastebin

Combined Pedals is disabled. This option combines accelerator and brake so i don't think it's the issue.
I tried enabling it BTW, still the same issue.

Code: Select all

global option -c with value `G29_G27.xml'
controller #1: option -p with value `COM4'
now reading arguments for controller #2
subpos flag is set
force_updates flag is set
auto-grab flag is set
GIMX adapter detected, controller type is: G27 PS3.
Firmware version: 8.0
Reset sent to the GIMX adapter.
Current baudrate: 500000 bps.
Trying baudrate: 2000000 bps.
Using baudrate: 2000000 bps.
no pass-through device is needed
If target is a PS3, start the game with a dualshock 3, and then reassign game controllers.
using default refresh period: 10.00ms
Haptic core has source haptic_source_lg for device 046d:c29b
Haptic core has sink haptic_sink_os for joystick 0 (Logitech G HUB G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel USB)
rounding timer period 10000us to 9982us

Please post the whole log file and activate the pedals one by one before you exit. Currently there is no OS or config info we can work with

I take it you have checked and remapped the axis in the config editor

Start the game with a dualshock 3, and then reassign game controllers.

This is explained in the guide for your use case: https://gimx.fr/wiki/index.php?title=Gu ... imitations

I found out what it is.
It turned out the game (NFS Pro Street on PS3) does not support a g27. Instead it appears as a Dualshock3.
After testing on different games the adapter works fine.
