For raspbian but if you are already busy with ubuntu you can try it later.

I do have a complete image of 19.10 but its a big file it has everything set up already username is ubuntu and password is also ubuntu

Please Remember to Post your Log file in the support section , that way its easier and faster to start identifying the issue thus helping you to sort it out so you can enjoy GIMX :D .

I have tried your Ubuntu and your Gimg - the same problem like in Raspbian

Here is the log file and link for full file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/17r9PPd ... sp=sharing

Now back to the Raspbian and to your code.

Save and reboot
I have tried it. It doesn't solve the problem.
The line looks like this for control:

Code: Select all

console=tty1 root=PARTUUID=6b27f4e8-02 rootfstype=ext4 elevator=deadline fsck.repair=yes rootwait dwc_otg.nak_holdoff=0 dwc_otg.fiq_enable=1 dwc_otg.fiq_fsm_enable=1 dwc_otg.fiq_fsm_mask=0x7
I have read this in Gimx installation guide:

Code: Select all

The default configuration does not allow high baudrates.
Enable high baudrates editing /boot/config.txt and add init_uart_clock=8000000
But in the log file is this

Code: Select all

Using baudrate: 500000 bps.
Is it OK? Can anybody confirm it is enough? Have I to increase the speed?
I'm really unhappy. I'm sad.

Malto can you replace the name of topic to "G25/G27 with GIMX on RPi4B failed"
Because I think the problem may be the same for G27 and with others GIMX versions.
Thank you very much.

I have read this in Gimx installation guide:

Code: Select all

The default configuration does not allow high baudrates.
Enable high baudrates editing /boot/config.txt and add init_uart_clock=8000000
Good morning

That is only if you use the built in UART of the Raspberry Pi in that scenario you will have to make a simple voltage divider and not require the CP2102 adapter, the AVR Board is directly connected to the GPIO pins and your serial port will be /dev/ttyS0

You can give it a shot but you will need two resistors.

Also can you tell me how you are powering your Pi and are you getting any under voltage warnings like the little lightning bolt in the top right corner or red led flickering.

EDIT

Just found this guide to increase the CP2102 max baud rate to 2000000 if you want to test it, just run the utility named CP21xxCustomizationUtility

http://www.olliw.eu/storm32bgc-wiki/How ... baud_rates

The link to download it is broken but I have it on my Google Drive

Good morning
How I wrote in my third post I have 5.25V/4A power adapter = 21Watts. So the power is enough.

I will try your utility but little bit later. I have to work now :-) I hope is it safe for the chip increase the speed?

I have a question. I have two SD cards. One with Raspbian and GIMX and one for Kodi (Libeelec)
If I insert the Gimx installation with into the reaspberry it shows kernel 5.4x and when I put the Kodi SD in it shows kernel 4.19x
It is normal?
I thought it is in raspberry not in system.

So far I can tell there are no issues so far I have played around with it last night and it was stable.

The difference in max baud rate could help 500000 bit/second = 0.476837 megabit/second vs 2000000 bit/second = 1.907349 megabit/second

The kernel is a part of linux its the link between the hardware and software, as we did an update on your raspbian card it now has a newer firmware. So its perfectly normal for your other one to still have a 4.x kernel :)

No effect. Still the same problem. :(
Any another idea?

As far as I remember CP2102 maximum baud rate is about 920k but only 500k is usable with GIMX. 1kk and 2kk modes aren't working with my CP2102. CP2104 is capable of 2kk.

Damn thought it was worth a shot, so the problem is caused by a limitation of the kernel.

Do you think it will make any difference if he uses the built in uart ?

After we get out of lock down this side im going to see if I can source a wheel

Hard for me to say. I don't even have RPi. Still it's worth giving a shot.
