Driving Force GT - No pedals detected

Post by XTi »

Good morning all,
I am XTi and I am a PS4 player since PS1. I love racing games and FPS.

Here the issue I cannot fix by myself :-(

I made a DIY GIMX adapter with a ProMicro ATmega32U4 and a DSD tech CP2102. Downloaded and installed GIMX 8, installed Logitech Gaming software as well. Selected Logitech Driving Force GT_g29.xml.

Clicked on Check -> This config Seems Ok
The Wheel DFGT works except the pedals. I deselected in the LGS the combined options for pedals, changed the usb cable from the adapter to PS4, tried to reboot pc and ps4 but nothing changes, my pedals do not work.

I open GIMX-config and in axis -> autodetect I see the event if I press a pedal so it means that on the pc I got the signal but it doesn't go on the PS4.

Tried also with another game, same issue.

Tied previous versione of GIMX, same issue.

I am sure I am missing something or doing something wrong.

Here the log from this test:
run gimx
run the game
press gas and brake
exit gimx

Please can you give me an hand?

Thank you very much for your support,
XTi

Hello,

Do you have LGS installed? Is combined pedals disabled?

I don't see anything wrongs.
You can try rebinding wheel inputs as a new config.

Try to delete and re-create the pedal bindings in the axis tab. You should be prompted to calibrate them.

If the above suggestion does not help:

Did you press the pedals while generating the log? If not please make another log. Fully press and release the gas pedal, and then fully press and release the brake pedal.

Hi everyone,
I tried rebinding the pedals, GIMX detected them properly and asked for calibration but they don't work in the game yet.

I already full pushed pedals in the log I posted, gas first then brake.

Doing more testing I discovered that Project Cars 2 see the "gas" pedal as the "touch pad" of DS4 and doesn't see the brake at all. Moreover, even if I have LGS installed and I am able to config the wheel using it, GIMX always prompt on start that LGS is needed and suggest me to download it. The only thing I notice is that I do not have the LGS icon in the system tray.

Do you have any suggestion?

Thank you very much,
XTi

Are all Windows updates applied? I already had a Windows bug making the joysticks to behave strangely, and the bug was fixed in a Windows update.

EDIT: please also try the G27 emulation (load the EMUG27 firmware), with both sides of the adapter plugged to the PC. Open joy.cpl and see if the pedals work as expected for the emulated G27.

Hi Matlo,
below the step I followed:

1. Verified with windows update that all the Win10 updates has been installed. -> computer was up to date
2. Installed EmuG27, launched joy.cpl, selected properties of Logitech G27 and tested full gas and full brake -> each pedals work. This is the log https://pastebin.com/ebYGx60F

based on this test I wanted to see what happens with DFGT so:

3. Opened joy.cpl, selected Driving Force GT works, opened properties and I confirm that gas and brake are detected and work on the pc
4. Reinstalled EMUPS4.hex firmware, reconnected properly adapter to pc-ps4, wheel and ds4 to pc, run again GIMX and did a new test: press/release gas and brake and they are recognized as:
-gas=touchpad
-brake=finger1

below the log of this test https://pastebin.com/dzv8ATH7

Any idea?

Thank you very much for your precious support,
