Game Input MultipleXer

I’m considering purchasing the parts for the gimx, but first I’d like to ask a simple question.
I only have one Xbox controller, and I will be using the gimx on Xbox, could I use a 360 controller for the gimx so that I can use the controller normally on the Xbox (I.e sound and mic for game and party chat)? Or will I have to purchase a separate Xbox one controller?

First question: yes, you can use X360 controller on Xbox One.
Second question: I don't think you can but at least you can output sound through optical port.
