i fixed the issue by "end task" a background process called "synaptics pointing device driver" in Task Manager.

That's a touchpad driver process. You can set touchpad to get disabled as soon as you connect mouse in synaptic settings.

Please check if this test version fixes your issue:

Make sure to reproduce the issue (loosing focus) before installing and trying the test version.

I am also having this issue and i cannot find anything else that is trying to take focus. anytime i hit the right mouse key i lose focus

I clicked on that link and it downloaded another version of 7.13 it doesn’t appear to be any different and no where has it been stated that that is a different version to what I already have.
