I've never faced to this problem. Maybe this causes by windows and softwares combination.
Try with Input set to "Window events" and make sure no task manager.

Using "Window events" will not trigger the error, but it will also not prevent the mouse from being released, which may lead to doing unwanted actions on the operating system (starting programs, or worse things).

There could be some program with administrative privileges taking focus. Try running GIMX with "Physical devices (elevated privileges)" as input.

Some other app is taking focus while you use gimx. Try closing some programs and try to identify which causes this issue.

Issue may be due to the "Keyboard device filter" driver. Try disabling it.

It happens to me when I switch the pc screen to ps4 and click some button and gone, like happened to you. When i change my monitor resolution to 1920x1080 problem fixed. Normally i use 2k resolution.

It can be related to nVidia panel notification about resolution
