Arduino builder does not detect COM3

Post by inethan »

Hello

Recently I have made a GIMX adapter myself and it didn't seem to work so ( keep in mind that every time i tried to upload the file via Arduino Builder i could select the COM3) i was kinda giving up. Last night i tried to upload the file but instead of pressing COM3 i pressed USBA SP and ever since COM3 option has disappeared. Same day i have bought the GIMX adapter from GIMX so it's not the diy version and I'm wondering if there will be any problems as the Arduino builder does not detect the COM3?
And if the GIMX adapter arrives which option should i use in Arduino Builder(Taget)?

Thank you for your time

Hello,

Use gimx-loader with the adapter from the shop and you'll be fine.

At the first time I also tried with arduino builder. It was successful in uploading firmware too but later I found that uploading with gimx-loader is much easier :)

Yeah even though it says that it only works for a certain board, any similar board should flash the same. It was able to flash my 3v3 32u4 which wouldn't even work with the firmware after, but flashed fine. You could try flashing from command line using avrdude but essentially the app does the same thing.
