Second update, it's no longer working. That's cool, I get it working for about five minutes then it decides to screw itself.
EDIT: Now it works again. Bit confused.

I'll give it a try, here's hoping that if it doesn't work it'll at least work if I hook it back up to my laptop.

It seems my issue has come to a close. After reading through FPeeVee's comments I figured out where my issue went. All I needed to do was start my controller and Xbox beforehand, have my adapter unplugged before I plug my controller into my computer and then plug my adapter into my computer and Xbox. That seems to have worked for me, as I am able to use it on my computer now first try.
