Yes, this dongle just won't work.

From now I will recommend this one: link. I received one today, it's a CSR bluecore4-rom dongle, it has quite a low price, and the seller is in the uk. It's even written "CSR BC4" on the product package :)

My dongle finally arrived!

But I really don't want to install Linux onto my HD, (my usb drive hasn't arrived yet).

So is it possible to use a livecd? Will that cause a performance drop for the mouse and keyboard? (I know linux itself will boot up slower). Is the same true for using a USB drive?

EDIT: Also does the 64-bit version of the emu perform better in any way?

EDIT2: Running from a live CD I get an error when I click the change address button, it says "address already in use". Is the sixaxis address and dongle address supposed to be the same?

There should be no performance drop with a live cd or a live usb.
But as there's nothing persistent (nothing saved) with a live cd, it's only good for test purposes.
With a live usb it's possible to add persistence (additional software and config files saved on the usb disk).

There should be no difference between the 64-bit version and the 32-bit version.

Your dongle allows a permanent modification of the bdaddr, so that you only need to modify it once.

I don't understand, does this mean it will work?

I'm off to try again :)

Oh man, I really have no idea what I have to do. I click the start button, and then what? Nothing happens... The Ps3 isn't controlled by my mouse or keyboard...

Read the tutorial carefully!

As so many people, you probably skipped the part 3.

In Linux, a configuration only works with specific mouse and keyboard models (the reason is that multiple mice and keyboard can be used independently at the same time). And you also have to adjust the config according to your own mouse DPI.

I have done part 3, the address of the dongle and sixaxis are the same.

Should the ps3 be on while I'm doing this?

When I click start, the "please reconnect ps3 controller" message on the ps3 goes off so I think the connection has been made yet still no control.

I will attempt to create my own config and see if that works.

That's not part 3. That's part 2.
