How to manually change PS3 badd in sixemu

Post by kangbyj8481 »

Hello guys, I have been experiencing frustrating problems to get sixemu to work with PS3

I'm using bluetooth dongle I had gotten from DX. I set the badd address to match with my controller

and when I start the emu, it turns my PS3 on. However, sixemugui freezes. Then I ESC out of the freeze and start the emuclient; sixstatus pops up then freezes.

My only lead for this problem is that PS3 badd on sixemugui and PS3 MAC address on actual PS3 don't match.

I tried manually to change ps3 address via terminal through ~/.sixemugui/config but only gives me

"line 1: (MAC addr): command not found" any suggestions?

Hi,

If it powers on your ps3, this means the bdaddr is right, so don't change anything by hand in any config file.

Did you build your own config that matches your own mouse and keyboard, as suggested in the tutorial (part 3)?

Yeah that might just be it. Iremember I used to have crashes like that before I made my own configs.

okay so I set up my own configuration and loaded up onto sixemugui

started emu, ps3 turns on. Then I started emuclient with grab and gui option checked with my own config.

the sixstatus only pops up a second then shuts itself down. Any suggestions?

Is your ps3 controller still in your pc? I also got that problem because my ps3 controller was still connected to my pc.

I unplugged controller from USB and it still doesn't work...

Here's a link to my config file:

http://www.4shared.com/document/kxoDfvV ... _nano.html

I'm using a wireless mouse with usb receiver but that doesn't seem to be a root of problem since

wired Microsoft wired mouse doesn't seem to work as well. I am however using my laptop keyboard.

Here's in depth explanation of what happens if it helps.
1. I launch sixemugui, starts emu, PS3 turns on, mouse cursor on Ubuntu moves to top left.
2. I launch emuclient with Mouse grab and terminal output with my laptop keyboard and wireless mouse configuration.
3. terminal pops up, displays "max_axis_value: 255" and closes. (In gui output, interface pops and closes in a second)

Thanks for much support!

great news, I plugged in external usb keyboard and set the configuration and sixemu magically worked. It

seemed like there was a problem with my laptop keyboard being recognized by sixemu.

Aiming is jittery but all it need is some calibration.

Thanks for the support!
