Hello,
The easiest way to proceed is to download a pre-made config (Help>Download configs in gimx-launcher).
You can then modify button bindings using gimx-config or gimx-fpsconfig:
https://gimx.fr/wiki/index.php?title=Config_Editors
And calibrate the mouse:

Sorry, I should have mentioned that you have to load the EMUPS4/atmega32u4.hex firmware.
The adapter from the shop gets loaded with the EMUG29PS4 firmware.
https://gimx.fr/wiki/index.php?title=DI ... re_loading
You have to follow the "Using the Arduino Builder tool" section.

Make sure to connect both ends of the adapter to the computer, and follow the instructions to the letter.

Connect the cable to the console, and power up the console.

Did you ever get it working? I am running a keyboard and mouse on my PS$ using gimx 6.4 / LInux 16.04 / Bluetooth Dongle. It works really well I love it!
