Gimx crashes on windows 7x64

Post by njhnjh666 »

Hello,

I'm running a pc on windows 7 64 bits and I can't use gimx at all.
Launching the launcher works fine, but if i click on edit config file, I get a "editor for gimx stopped working"

I don't have more info, since I haven't even started playing, I can't get the editor to work.

Edit : also i tried on my w10 laptop and it works no problem. I tried reinstalling older gimx and no success. I also tried switching between x86-x64, but it only changes when the program crashes.

Sorry for my english, I'm french

Did you try the other drivers by using the Azdig program? the original drivers are known to cause issues on some systems.

For which GIMX version do the crashes happen? Could you make a screenshot of the crash and post it?

My advice is to check first that all windows updates have been installed, and then install latest GIMX software (6.3 at this time).

This is on 6.3 x64 after clicking the "check" button

6.3 x64 after clicking on a button, then pressing a key on the keyboard to set it.

Have you allready gave a look at the eventviewer ?

if not do the following steps:

1. Start GIMX until the crash appears
2. Look at the more detailed error description or close the application.
3. Press "Win+R" in the run field type: eventvwr.msc and then press "OK"
4. Navigate to Windows Logs > Application - and look for errors or post try to google it and post it here on the forum too.

PS: Here is a video tutorial for the Windows Event Viewer:
