TIAO GIMX + fanatec GT2 problems

Hello I have patiently tried to do and re do the installation after searching for answers grom this forum, so far no luck.
I have The TIAO GIMX GBoard - USB Serial and ATMEGA32U4 / Fanatec GT2 and v.1 bedals - in PS3 mode = G25 / Driveclup on PS4

The setup worked for a short beriod of time, on win7, but the setup did not work at all on next day -GIMX did not regonize the Tiao poard no matter what I tried to do.
Now I have updated -unrelatedly to this problem- my pc from WIN7 to WIN 10.

Some symptoms:
- Most times if I crash on the game= drive to wall etc., the wheel and bedals stop working, sometimes the mapped PS putton work, but not allways. The GIMX has to be manuallu stopped. Log file shows on several rows; 1482782919.818900 unhandled packet (type=0x00). etc.
- Now I can connect the wheel to PS4, but it stops working after short period of time when playing + clutch works in wrong direction: I haveto push it down to get forward.
-It seems that forcefeedback is either not working, or is wery weak
- I sometimes get the no space left in write queue for device (0) error after gimx stops working.
- The setup did actually work on win10 before I installed the logitech controlpanel. How ever Uninstalling it has not solved anything, so it might just been good luck on the first try. - the shifter did not work, so thats why I intalled the logitech software.
- Also If I try to map the buttons on a new setup, the wheel movement is not regonized at all, only pedals and buttons on the wheel. So I have tried to modify the original mamppings and save them on different names.

these are the first lines on the log:

global option -l with value `log.txt'
global option -c with value `LogitechG25_G29_W10_fantecGT2_muokattu.xml'
controller #1: option -p with value `COM3'
now reading arguments for controller #2
grab flag is unset
status flag is set
subpos flag is set
force_updates flag is set
GIMX 6.3 x86_64
Windows 10 (or later) x64
Kernel version: 10.0 (14393)
USB adapter detected, controller type is: G29 PS4.

Timer resolution: min=156250 max=5000 current=5004
using default refresh period: 5.00ms
macros are not available for: joystick Logitech G25 Racing Wheel USB (0)

So far I have
- tried different usb ports
-tried different usb cords
- set the wheel and PS4 pad on *do not shut the fucking thing -usb setting - on the usb borad this setting is grey, so I take it does not need to be changed ?
- installed and reinstalled the GIMX, the firmware etc.
- After installing logitech contropanel I did haveto mannualy change the texts on LogitechG25_G29_W10.gmx : G25 Racing Wheel --> Logitech G25 Racing Wheel USB, as GIMX said on check: joystick not found: G25 Racing Wheel (0).

Hope I have made any sense, please help.

Maybe the TIAO Gboard is broken, or a cable is bad.
Try running GIMX in Linux Mint 18. If run into the same issue, then a hardware issue is most probable.

Finally had some time to fiddle with the wheel on ps4.
It seems my Fanatec v.1 bedals is to plame of my struggle or the Wheel, that the bedals are attached to: If i dont map the cluth at all, the Driveculp works and the controller does not disconnect.
However I don't have force feedback at the moment, the wheel does not rattle or fight back on the cornes etc. - Dont know why. - haveto do some fidling on that and see what happens. - the wheel works with clutch and force feedback on PC - sometimes I hear that Win10 gives the sound that usb controller is disconnected and reconnected during a game.

So, Good news is that the TIAO GIMX seems to work, bad news is that I might haveto spend the monney on new wheel, if I cant fix the issue with the clutch. Most likely I will find the answer I need from Fanatec formus.

Dont konw what do about the force feedback.
Can anybody with GT2 send me the XML file of his setup ( ...\AppData\Roaming\gimx\config), so I can try that on my computer. That would help a lot.

this is the one with clutch.
The controller is disconnected as soon as I pres the clutch. Also the clutch work backwards: I have to push it down to move the car.

Did you try the LogitechG25_G29.xml configuration? You can get it through the Help>Get configs menu.

Yes, it says that there is no wheel installed. So I mannualy changed the text to " Logitech G25 Racing Wheel USB" so that gimx regonized the GT2.

...For fuck sake. I have just tried to use ubuntu for the first time of my life. Not a fun experience and it seems that ubuntu won't regonize G25/GT2 with out some fiddling... I used the "try with out installing on usb" - Got gimx installed, but had to yield on the fact that ubuntu did not regonize the wheel. Also after i restarted the ubuntu, gimx etc had wanished. So I haveto really install the ubuntu or find a way to save the changes on the ubuntu that is in the usb.
- Time consuming and I have small children to take care of, so we shall see when I have te time to sit and get this thing done...

Ok again findling... I reloaded the 64-bit LGS from https://gimx.fr/wiki/index.php?title=Logitech_Wheels I did not change the registry as the controller name was equal to proposed.

This time the Wheel started working with the LogitechG25_G29.xml With FFB and I can pres the clutch. How ever during second lap on a race in Driveclub the controller stopped working on PS4: Windows had freeze. I was not able to move the mouse or use Tab or ctr+alt+del. Had to reboot manually.

...But somethin has changed and there seems to be hope :P

EDIT:
OK.. more test and fidlin. Another race and another freeze: the USB port on the back of the PC where mouse and keypoard are plugged stops working.
Takin mouse and keyboard and plugging them on he back did not do anything. But they started working when I plugged them on the front of the PC.
So it seems that the problem is in the back panel usb ports.

(TIAO GIMX and PS4 controller have been plugged in the front panel and the GT2 to back of the tower.)
Somethin happens to the usb ports that makes the GIMX/wheel to stop working ~ THe GIMX software does not stop, but the PS4 stops responding.

I shall try to use front panel only and see what happens.

EDIT 2: Moving GT2 to front panel usb port seems to help. At least I was able to drive one full race. No more time for fidle and test at this time. But I let you know how it works when I have time to properly test this setup.

As I am allready way beyond stupid questions: What is the proper way to stop the program ? :D

Edit 3: As said, im running gimx on Win10
I noticed that I'm now using LogitechG25_G29.xml and it seems to work fine. except the Fanatec gearstick is not in use at the moment, but the badles work so good enough for me.
As before I Downloaded the LogitechG25_G29_W10.xml and I had many kinds of problems, as listed in the earlier comments.

Thanks

So for now this might actually work as intented. Thank you Matlo for this wonderful program :)

The right way to stop GIMX is to press SHIFT + ESC.

The W10 configs were an attempt to handle device name differences, that proved not to be due to the Windows version.
It turns out that the short device names ("G25 Racing Wheel") are due to the device being plugged once before installing the LGS software.
