Help request:- New user with PS4 DFGT (FIXED)

Post by Marksman »

Hi folks.

Great job with this system, and thanks for taking the time to make it. Happy to contribute in due course.

I'm a new user trying to get to grips with GMIX, I'm close but not there yet.

Gubbins:-
WIN 10
PS4
Logitech driving Force GT
CP2102
Teensy ++ 2.0. (running at 5V, ie does not have the 3v3 conversion on the underside)
Flashed with EMUG29PS4 fw
Logitech Gaming SW installed

Wiring:-

Other Connections.
Teensy to Console.
CP2102 to PC (com3, setting to allow win to powersave turned off)
DS4 Model CUH-ZCT1E connected to PC.

We get a good "this config seems OK"

Running via the start button gives a command window, but pressing the "PS" button on the wheel (or any other button) doesn't result in anything happening on the PS. (It's turned on and sitting idle on the home page.)

There is an error listed at the top of the command window

Code: Select all

windows/gprio.c:23 gprio: failed to set priority class
If I set "messages" to log file" I receive this when I exit:-

Code: Select all

global option -l with value `log.txt'
global option -c with value `LogitechDrivingForceGT_G29.xml'
controller #1: option -p with value `COM3'
now reading arguments for controller #2

force_updates flag is set

Kernel version: 10.0 (14393)

found pass-through device 0x054c:0x05c4
Timer resolution: min=156250 max=5000 current=5003
using default refresh period: 5.00ms
macros are not available for: joystick PS4 Controller (0)
Warning: can't open macro directory C:\Users\Marksman\AppData\Roaming//gimx//macros/

rounding timer period to 4502
If I try again, then I get an error that GMIX closed with 5 secs. Uplugging and replugging the connection to the console resets that and the sw can be started again.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

If any more info will help to debug please shout.

Cheers,

Owen S.

Hi,
Did you press the PS button?

Hi Malto.

Yes, as stated above I pressed the PS button.

Problem turned out to be user error of a different kind. I was blindly following the dummies guide and put the teensy FW in the board not the ++ version for my micro. Doh. (The micro even has the name etched along the top but still missed that.)

With the correct fw the application worked flawlessly.

Tested with PSVR Driveclub, and it was perfect. No drop outs, no lag, just did exactly what it was meant to do.

I'll spread the word about GMIX :-)

Thanks,

Owen S.

Hi Marksman,

Can you please confirm that force feedback (not just vibration) works properly?
