CHIP / C.H.I.P. Quick Setup Guide

Post by cajuil »

Hello everyone,

I just wrote a quick setup (tutorial) guide for using Next Thing Co's - C.H.I.P. with GIMX.

https://gimx.fr/wiki/index.php?title=CHIP

@Matlo

Cheers :D

NOTE: Still in early stage but at least is something. The wiki needed it.

This is awesome if you got it working!

However, the wiki page could use a lot of fleshing out. How to set up gimx to run automatically, how to configure gimx for the correct config (similar to the rpi wiki, but probably worth fleshing out), how do you even ssh into the CHIP... If you wrote a script that would set up gimx in one go, this would be a lot more accessible to more people. Also talk about any usb hub you're using, and all the connections. Any case/packaging.

I'm assuming you're not using the usbotg, but still relying on a diy adapter? I guess in this case it's about as useful as an rpi zero. Can't wait for Matlo to get the usbotg going!

I'll give this a go next weekend.

Do I wire up a voltage divider to chip the same way I would when connecting teensy to a pi?

Anything else out of the ordinary(compared to our usual gimx & adapter installs) that I need to be aware of?
