Hi guys,

just registered here to ask a few questions. Sorry if these are noob as but I'm still not entirely sure what this adapter does after reading through this forum and wiki

I have a few wheels etc around my house but biggest one Im having issues with is using a Logitech g29 wheel with fanatec clubsport shifter

Currently I use fanatec clubsport shifter on a usb adapter which uses joy id #2 while the logitech g29 uses joy #1. Now certain games don't play well with more then 1 joystick and also I can't use the shifter on my PS3 and PS4 with the current setup

Will this adapter emulate 1 x Logitech g27 as a logitech shifter (attached to wheel) for use on windows and consoles? If it does then my life is complete!

Thanks

Yes GIMX is able to stream the inputs from all devices attached to your computer into an emulated controller.

Since the fanatec clubsport shifter has to be calibrated before it works as a windows device with their driver. I'm guessing it won't work with a raspberry pi? I would need a 2nd windows pc eg a laptop or such

I did not have any feedback from G29 users, so I can't tell if it works without issues on RPi.
To know if your shifter can be used on RPi, you could easily run Linux Mint 18 from a Live USB disk and install jstest-gtk to check if your shifter is correctly detected and calibrated.

FFB through OS driver for G920 on GNU/Linux #409
does this mean with 6.3 the g920 should work with ffb on the rpi?

Tested them out with linux mint 18 and jstest-gtk and shifter works fine! same with wheel and pedals (logitech g29). I didn't do the calibration, seemed to work fine as it was

Ill have to order a couple raspberry pi 3's

I just ordered a Pi3. I'll let you know if it fixes the performance issues I had on lower Pi models.

@dazza83
In theory, yes. In practice, there may be issues.

@Boomslangnz
Is your shifter seen as axes or buttons?
I suggest you to try to get it to work with GIMX on Linux Mint 18 first (add some persistence to your Live USB disk).
And if everything works as expected, then by a RPi3 and try with the same configuration file.

It showed as buttons. Didnt have any axis for the shifter

The full h pattern worked and also the sequential mode worked too
