Recommended Computer?

Post by arsen »

First of all, a big thank you to the developers and supportive forum members.

Is there a recommended computer for gimx? Raspberry pi is the obvious choice, but it is listed as experimental due to the USB controller being unstable. Do all raspberry pies have this issue? Does the Orange Pi have this issue?

Obviously having support for a cheap single board computer would remove a big barrier to entry for those who don't already have an extra computer.

Again props to all who have made this project what it is.

Hello there.
I'm not an expert on Raspberry Pi but i have some experience with it (media player).
I would say as long as you are willing to get it to work on a raspberry pi you can. Ifyou can get a hold of a really powerfull powersupply (5.1V 3A) it would be less interference in the usb controller.

Any crappy laptop should work as long as it has working usb ports
If you are more into windows any computer would do, i would even buy one of these if the main goal is to use as gimx host only.
