when I open /root all I find is gimx_change_config.sh, Gimx_List_configs.sh and blink.py?

Cant find file to add custom config on RPI
I am using Winscp and can connect to my RPI, but when I connect I can't find where the configs are to add my own. where would this be located?

raspberry pi with no adapter?
This is probably a dumb question, but can the raspberry pi be used without an external adapter? I was confused about whether or not I needed one on the raspberry pi tutorial.
