Hello. So DIY project.
- Soldered Serial converter to teensy, uploaded the dummies tutorial firmware on it. " failed to read packet header from the GIMX adapter"
- Tried to switch RX and TX, no effect
- Tried it on Arduino pro micro, couldnt upload it with gimx launcher, so i used arduino builder for gimx included G27.hex, "failed to read packet header from the GIMX adapter"
- Resoldered everything, same problem.
Now i have tried everything i can figure, all components are from aliexpress yes..
Update:
- Changed wires from TX and RX as you should with pro micro, no effect. However the arduino is not recognized by PC which by google is a good thing
U2:
- Rewired everything again with fresh pro micro, cant upload firmware with the launcher. The LEDs are on on both devises etc...
U3:
- Managed to get firmware uploaded with the launcher shorting RST and ground, still same error...
SOLVED Yet another "failed to read packet header from the GIMX adapter"

Re: Yet another "failed to read packet header from the GIMX adapter"
Only things i have found online have been about RX/TX or bad solders, and there is no way i have soldered things over 5 times badly. Really running out of ideas. I have ordered new CP2102 boards and even new pro micros, but it feels like something else is the issue. My PC does recognize the serial converter. Despite getting the firmware uploaded with RST/GND shorting, i get firmware error upon opening gimx launcher.
What are the chinese blue gimx adapter on ebay? Worth a shot? Rather not got for 70€ youtuber model.
I have tried everything, different cables etc. Keeping ps5 controller off and starting it off of the button...
global option -c with value `simucube.xml'
controller #1: option -p with value `COM17'
now reading arguments for controller #2
subpos flag is set
force_updates flag is set
auto-grab flag is set
Error: failed to read packet header from the GIMX adapter

Hey.
Sorry for late answer.
Have you tested another cable between the arduino and the console?
When you installed Gimx did you reboot the computer? (This is more commonly than you would think that gives issue)
What windows version are you using? Windows 11 is not recommended since the drivers are made for Windows 10.
Try an older version of Gimx 7.15.
Have you installed Logitech Gaming Software v5.10 on your computer?

Re: Yet another "failed to read packet header from the GIMX adapter"
I tried all my cables, even bought a new one. Older model gimx, all drivers, logitech software. Didnt help.
Got new pro micro and serial converter and everything worked instantly. I most likely broke the original CP2102 when i soldered off the original headers.
This time i soldered the wire directly on the header, and used abikos on RX/TX connection to be able to swap it if necessary.
