No controller and adapter connected

I have gimx on my RPI 3 and have everything set up how it should be (adapter plugged in with teensy going into the pi, and a controller plugged in). I know the cable works because I use it daily for a pro wired controller (not the one I plugged into the pi). I have tried switching RX and TX to no avail, any help?

Hi
Please add a log file also what firmware did you load onto the teensy is the teensy a clone or genuine ?
Post clear pictures of the adapter and what uart adapter are you using ?

Teensy/atmega32u4 side should be connected to the target (gaming console).
