Re: Bluetooth Delay 4-6 second. Help guys
Bump.
Do you have a FAT, slim or superslim PS3?
deeko is experiencing latency issues after having changed his PS3 from a FAT to a superslim one...

Hey hey - Happy New Year to y'all!
Sorry I never got back to you... I lost my bluetooth dongle, so ended up building a custom USB cable in the end. My mouse is the MX518 so that causes me a few minor issues, but so far so good. I intend to get another dongle soon to try and go for a full wireless solution though, so if I still have issues with that I'll update.
In response to your last question, I've got a slim (not the super-slim) 320GB model running the latest official firmware.
Cheers!

Dell XP M1730
Ubuntu 12.04
4gb RAM
2,4ghz Core 2 Duo
GIMX v1.00
BT (actually I have 2 compatible external and internal adapter):
Manufacturer: Cambrige Silicon Radio
Chipsets:
BlueCore4 ROM
BlueCore4 External
Tested with: DUST 514
I can confirm there is issue with "Force Updates" option - both dongles.
When I untick it, I can move but i would have to press the button rapidly for character to move as it doesn't recognise button state as pressed and hold.
With "Force Updates" ticked, I can move normal (character moves constantly as long as I press the button) BUT with 4+ seconds delay.

Do you have a FAT, slim or superslim PS3?
Did you have the issue with Ubuntu 11.04?
The issue is not a consequence of the 'force updates' option. I never had the issue with my FAT PS3, and I let this option activated all the time. This option amplifies the issue as there is more data to send...

PS3 Slim
I haven't used GIMX recently.
I recall months ago I could play Killzone 3 without any issues but don't remember if I had "force updates" enabled or disabled.
I would roll back to 11.04 or even older, but GIMX requires libc6 >=2.15. Latest I could use for Ubuntu 11.04 is libc6 2.13 so I couldn't use GIMX v1.00 (only v0.51 that doesn't recognise my wireless keyboard). I will experiment with different Linux distributions.
Can you recommend something light for GIMX?
Regards,

Type in a terminal:
The compilation should give no error.
Start emu.
Then type in a terminal:
Replace <PS3 address> with the address of your PS3, e.g. 01:02:03:04:05:06.
Start emuclient, and see if it's better...
Note that the hcifto command has to be run each time emu is started again.
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install libbluetooth-dev
wget http://diyps3controller.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/GIMX/core/utils/hcifto.c
gcc -o hcifto hcifto.c -lbluetooth
Start emu.
Then type in a terminal:
Code: Select all
sudo ./hcifto <PS3 address> 16
Start emuclient, and see if it's better...

Re: Bluetooth Delay 4-6 second. Help guys
Complilation went OK.
After starting emu > updating flush time for my PS3 > starting emuclient it's still the same. Around 4 secs lag.
I have changed distro to Xubuntu 12.10.
For example: Portal 2 runs OK without "Force Updates" enabled.
DUST 514 does not. As I stated before, without "Force Updates" character reacts instantly but stops moving after 0.1s .
Tomorow will experiment with 11.04 distributions. I just hope I'll be able to update glibc6 to >=12.15.

Please do the same actions as requested there: http://gimx.fr/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4396#p4396
(with & without setting the flush timeout)
